This is a Tom Delonge appreciation post...

Blink 182 live @ 02 Arena, London.

So, I watched one of my favourite bands of all time play on Friday night, and far out it was one of the most incredible experiences of my life. Live music is the only drug worth indulging in, for reals y'all.
Every single song they played brought back a thousand memories of being young and care free. Growing up on Blink was the best, and seeing them now as an adult just reminds that 'I never wanna act my age'.
They played the perfect setlist of old favourites including I Miss You, Violence, Always, Down, All The Small Things, What's My Age Again?, Josie, Dammit, and First Date, and new songs Snake Charmer, Up All Night, After Midnight, Wishing Well, and Heart's All Gone.

This is Tom Delonge and he is the love of my life.

Travis Barker has, quite literally, turned drumming into an art form. He plays with so much passion and love that watching him hammer away on those drum skins is electric - his drum solos were some of the highlights of the night, and I doubt there are many drummers that can bring a sold out arena to a stunned and awed silence. Rockstar.
The interaction and banter between Mark and Tom is still as hilarious and immature as ever - it feels like just yesterday they were running around the streets of LA naked begging to be reminded of their age, again.

Blink-182 have and always will be the pioneers of not just pop punk, but of punk itself. Punk is all about having the guts to be true to yourself, and stand up for what you believe in regardless of what others think. Punk is about screaming at the top of your lungs, and being free from the pain of the 'real world'.
Blink have always unapologetically been true to themselves, and it's a testament to the band that after a five year hiatus they're still selling out world tours, and performing to crowds of loyal fans screaming back every word.
Nothin's changed - they're still hilarious, inspiring, and total freakin rockstars in every sense of the word!

Let's make this last forever...

Friday Favourites:

Favourite Song of The Week:
Bring Your Daughter To The Slaughter - Iron Maiden.
Maiden are the kinds of Creepy Cool, and this little baby is no exception to the rule! This is also a sublime vocal performance from Mr Dickinson that I could listen to over, and over. So you know what to do, fetch ya daughter!

Favourite Album of The Week:
Enema Of The State - Blink-182.
Since I'm turning 20 (sob, sob) on sunday, the most approriate way to spend my final week on earth as a teenager was to thrash around in my pyjamas to some seriously cheesy pop-punk!
This was Blink's first release after moving to MCA records, but they showed no signs of maturing or conforming to commercial record label success with songs such as 'Dysentary Gary' - Cut to me asking my dad what dysentary is when I was about 12, went down well! HA!
Nothing sums up my teenage years better than Blink-182, skateboarding, and obsessing over boys who look like Tom Delonge so it seemed only right that I would play the crap out of this all week. Love it!

Favourite Video of The Week:
Celebrity Skin - Hole.

So as we all know, it was International Women's Day yesterday and it seems only fitting that I celebrated my listening to some of the greatest ladies to ever grace a stage - Courtney Love is my personal favourite, and here she is doing what she does BEST, being a total babe and this video is so clever, and gorgeous! Enjoy!

Favourite Quote of The Week:
"I want every girl in the world to pick up a guitar and start screaming!" - Courtney Love
Favourite Tom Delonge Moment of The Week:
In fact this is a lot of funny moments all in one, but jeez he's my favourite human ever! Gah.

Per-lease watch the whole thing, and piss yourself laughing!

Happy Friday Everybody!
