I'm a monster Blink fan so it might seem weird that I wasn't that excited about them getting back together and working on a new album (even though I did end up buying tickets to see them next year..) Nine times out ot ten, I find bands like this - by this I mean monumental, ground-breaking and undeniably influential on not only other bands in their genre (pop-punk) but many others - don't tend to live up to their own hype, and expectation when they step back into their old shoes.
I was skeptical when I heard this song, it sounds like Angels and Airwaves. Now, I love Angels and Airwaves, but I don't want Blink to sound like them - I want Blink to sound like Blink, geddit guys?
It's growing on me - and since watching the video, I'm starting to like it, a lot. I'm very intrigued by their new sound, it's a fusion of Blink, Box Car Racer, +44 and Angels and Airwaves. It reflects the journey they've been on as a band, and as human beings and represents where they are as a trio perfectly.
