POP PUNK'S NOT DEAD.

I'm not the biggest fan of pop-punk but there are always exceptions to the rule... Blink-182 are, without question, the pioneers of pop-punk and happen to be one of my most beloved bands of all time. They're lyrics rock, Tom Delonge is my all-time biggest crush and obsession (I will marry him) and they write the catchiest, jamminest, feet-tappingist, head-bangingest tunes around. BUT, this isn't about Blink. This is about a totally different pop-punk band that I've been in love with since, well, forever. NEW FOUND GLORY.
Please, please find me one of their songs that isn't totally the most amazing thing your ears ever heard. They too write some rockin' lyrics and each and every song will get stuck in your head for days but that's cool cos they're damn good songs! I feel like if you don't like/LOVE this band, there absolutely has to be something not quite right. I mean, the lead singer is a dead ringer for Quentin Tarantino which is an extra 10,000 cool points right there. They pretty much make me wish pop-punk was my fave music because I know I would just be rockin around with blue hair and the biggest smile on my face singing (and meaning) 'I'd still pick my friends over you' - but as it happens, I'm not. You're normally gonna catch me blastin' some crazy heavy emo crap, but hey no one's perfect.
I'd just like to say, Green Day (as far as I'm concerned) are not pop punk, no sir, they are are straight up face-melting punk rock. End of.
So, next week I'm seeing NFG twice in three days. Man, life is sweet sometimes. I get to rock to them in my fave venue in the world, Concorde 2 and then at Reading fest 2 days later. I'm feeling pretty lucky right about now.
Fuck yeah pop punk.
